Audra Van Ekeren

Hello! My name is Audra, and I hold a B.S. in Conservation Biology from the University of South Dakota.

Over the last several years, I have worked with raptors, songbirds, insects, and water protection. I have worked for the State of South Dakota, the University of South Dakota, and the Black Hills Raptor Center in Rapid City, SD. I have been doing wildlife, nature, and sustainability education for 4 years.

When I'm not working, you can find me on a trail somewhere or with my head buried in a book. I love backpacking, camping, and teaching others about how to appreciate the outdoors.

I hope to travel to Scotland this year, and I plan to hike the Pacific Crest Trail someday.

Can't wait to see you in the virtual classroom!

Fun fact about me: I helped the National Music Museum with research on various arthropod pests to help them understand how to better protect all the fragile and irreplaceable organic materials in instruments hundreds of years old. Biology can apply literally anywhere!
