Beth Wood
I grew up in Indiana, a lifelong animal lover, where I participated in 4H, Girl Scouts, athletics & loved art.
Following high school, I went to the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. Upon returning to Indiana, I married my husband Chad and continued art on the side as a freelancing artist while managing a local pet store.
In 2000, I was hired at her area zoo as Program Coordinator overseeing education programs, overnights, staff & working with animal ambassadors.
My husband and I have two sons Cody and CJ & a wonderful daughter-in-law, Alyssa. After 11 years, I left the zoo & became Director of Indiana WILD Llc.
Indiana WILD is a company whose focus is to celebrate the human & animal cultural connections.
Indiana WILD celebrates animals not only in science & nature but also in history, holidays, religion, storybooks, art & more.
The majority of Indiana WILD animals have come from people who had them as pets. Hence, programs always include a responsible pet message as well as an age-appropriate conservation message.
"At Indiana WILD we are not here to tell you what kind of pet to have or not have but are here to encourage you...
it doesn't matter if you have a cat, dog, parakeet or a goldfish...if you have a pet it is a lifetime commitment...Pets are not disposable."
