Allison Kaufman

Hi! My name is Dr. Allison! This is the first time I've use my "title" outside a University job, but I decided it's important for kids - especially girls - to meet women who have earned PhDs and to know that you can earn a PhD and still work with animals! I'm not a medical doctor, I'm the type of doctor that does scientific research about animals and teaches about them. 

Marine mammals are my favorite and right now I'm a volunteer with seals, sea lions, and beluga whales. But I've worked at lots of places and taught about lots of animals, and I'm excited to tell you all about them. I have two boys, two dogs, three rats, and an African Grey Parrot. My husband says I'm not allowed to have any more lizards because he didn't like having a tank of live crickets to feed them living in the laundry room.
